Soul opens crisp and peppery, bergamot and lemon sharpened by both pink and white pepper, a bracing citrus start that gives no hint of what follows. The heart turns ceremonial: incense and bakhoor smoke, softened by jasmine sambac and ylang-ylang so the resin never becomes austere. The base is all warm wood, sidr and sandalwood with amber and a thread of vetiver running underneath.
