Kahilan takes the desert as its subject, and you can hear that in the way it is built.

Bergamot and red berries open it bright and a little tart, a brief flash of freshness before the composition dries out. Vetiver holds the heart almost alone, green and rooty, giving the fragrance its arid, mineral quality. The base is where the warmth returns: amber and white oud, softer and cleaner than a traditional dark oud, with caramel adding an unexpected sweet edge at the close.

Composed by Kevin Mathys and released in 2024 as an oriental. Unisex eau de parfum, 100mL. Best in cooler weather, and a good bridge for anyone moving from fresh fragrances towards oud.
